Beauty Tip of the Day: Drinking Water

water-glass1

Drinking water to help keep your skin clear and hydrated is one of the most underrated and under practiced beauty tips. I used to be one of those people that didn’t believe what everyone was saying about drinking a lot of water and it’s ability to help clear your skin. I would drink water, tea, and healthy juices, however I never used to drink the amount of water I do today. One week, I decided to test this theory out. So, I started to drink between 1,500-2L of water a day. At first it was hard, but soon enough, I started to see really good results! Your skin starts to develop a really natural, healthy glow. I started to notice less breakouts, and yes, clearer skin. Not only did my face get clearer, but I also noticed a dramatic difference with my body breakouts. I was shocked because it’s such a simple beauty tip, but so effective. If you’d like to try this out for a week, I would suggest to steer clear from any soda or sugary juices. If you are craving other drinks besides water, you can have healthy teas, such as green tea with lemon. The recommended amount of water a day is 2L a day, but if that’s too much for you at first, i’d suggest 1,500L. Or you can just slowly build up to your own pace; really any water is better than nothing. Drinking water really flushes out your system; which also means that you will be heading to the bathroom more often! Another tip is to always bring a water bottle with you wherever you are going, so that you are constantly reminded to drink, and you can fill it up throughout the day.

Beauty Tip of the Day: Hot Washcloth Pimples

Use-a-hot-clean-washcloth-300x203

Hello beauties! Today, I’d thought i’d share a simple, but very effective beauty trick with you all. Have you ever experienced those under the surface hard pimples/cysts that have no head but are red? Have you tried icing them and that doesn’t work? Well, you’re in luck because this beauty trick works like a dream, literally getting red of completely/ reducing the under the surface pimple so incredibly fast. This technique best works when in the shower as the steam really works to open the pores. Simply place a cloth or small towel under warm/hot running water from the tap for a few seconds, then press the hot cloth right on the spot for a couple of seconds. Repeat this action a couple of times until you are satisfied, and make sure to not pick at the spot as it is under the surface. I don’t know much about the science behind this technique, but I do know that it works because of the blood flow from the warm/hot water, which improves the circulation of oxygen to the under the surface spot. In my experience, most of the time, the spot is gone the next day, however if it is particularly stubborn it might take a few tries. I hope this beauty trick will work for you as much as it does to me!

Ice Facials

ice-cubes-nausea-md

I thought i’d share one of the best beauty skincare secrets I know, ice facials. It’s affordable, available to everyone and very effective. Simply, wash your face, and apply the ice cube all over the face until it has melted away completely, or just to the affected area. Ice is incredibly effective in reducing swelling (that of a pimple in particular), as well as to help even out the skin tone, reduce puffiness, and help in anti ageing. Depending on how your skin is, I like to ice my face every night, after I cleanse and before I go in the shower. I find that it really helps to reduce swelling of pimples, as well as to keep them at bay. Another trick, is to place the ice cube under the eyes to reduce puffiness, as well as to act as a natural anti ageing treatment to really prevent wrinkles. I would really recommend you try this quick and easy beauty trick, as I know how well it has worked for my skin and hope that it makes a difference to yours!
