Honest Beauty Makeup Haul Part 2 (2017) & First Impressions

fullsizerenderHello Beauties!

By now you should know that I am completely obsessed with Honest Beauty makeup! I have reviewed a few other products from their line in my first haul in which i was thoroughly impressed (link here). Not only do they use safe, mostly natural ingredients, it is quality high performance makeup that is comparabale and even better than mainstream makeup. I love how you can create fast looks with their products as they are made for on the go busy women. I love using natural makeup products, but they also have to perform well and that is exactly what Honest Beauty does. Not to mention the packaging is beautiful, modern, and simple. I will say though their makeup is made to enhance natural beauty and therefore look natural on the skin.

As I live in Australia, I unfortunately cannot get it shipped to me (I hope in the future they change this), and was lucky enough to have a family member purchase these whilst on holidays. I think that the pricing is fair as you are paying for quality, safe ingredients. Although not all the ingredients are natural and organic, I am ok with using safe synthetics. I always give my honest opinion in my reviews as I want to recommend only the best products that are safe and effective to my friends.

Now let’s get to the first impressions…

Honest Beauty Creme Blush in Truly Exciting (US $22)

This is the first cream blush I have ever owned and I absolutely love it! I have fair skin and the colour is perfect for me. It’s described as a pink rose, which is a perfect description. I bought this to wear over the tinted moisturiser on more natural makeup days. It’s very creamy and easy to work with. Its pigmented, but not to the extent of being difficult to work with as you can sheer it out. It’s easily buildable and prefer to use my fingers with this product but you can definitely use a stipple brush. It doesn’t feel thick or sticky as the formula is very thin and lightweight. It doesn’t set to a powder finish, it just gives you this natural, healthy glow. As most days I wear the Jane Iredale purepressed base, I do wish they would make a powder version of this colour.

This has a soft fruity/berry scent, as it’s infused with fruit extracts like raspberry, which I enjoy. As I’m sensitive to fragrance, I love that it isn’t strong and doesn’t linger on the face once applied. You could also use this on your lips to get a more uniform look. I also love the packaging as it is compact and travel friendly. I haven’t noticed any irritation or breakouts when I wore this product, but will update you if I do. I will definitely be purchasing more colours in the future! I would most definitely recommend this product if you are into cream blushes and this shade would suit a variety of skin tones.

Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil‬, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride‬, Beeswax (Cera Alba, Cire d’Abeille), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax (Euphorbia Cerifera Cera, Cire de Candelilla), Ethylhexyl Palmitate‬, Polyglyceryl-6 Polyricinoleate‬, C10-18 Triglycerides‬, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax (Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Cire de Carnauba), Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate‬, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract‬, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract‬, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract‬, Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract‬, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract‬, Glyceryl Caprylate‬, Triethyl Citrate‬, Alcohol‬. Honest Beauty Concealer Duo in Vanishing Vanilla (US$20)

I purchased this product for on the go spot concealing. I love how compact it is, making it perfect for your purse. This shade is perfect for my fair to light skin tone with yellow undertones. I love how it comes with two shades to mix and match depending on your skintone. The darkest shade is almost peachy to me, which could work quite well for dark cirlces. I have used it under my eyes and find it a little bit too drying and it creases and prefer the brightness and creaminess of my RMS beauty un coverup.

I do however love the coverage it gives for spot concealing, especially when used with the real techniques accent brush as it is small and stiff, allowing to pack on the product. I then go in with my fingers to lightly blend out any harsh edges. It looks very natural and almost undetectable on the skin. You need to warm up the product as it is a little bit dry before applying onto your blemish. The formula is also good for blemishes as it’s not too creamy so it will stay put and not slide around. I would describe the coverage as high medium. I would recommend this to someone looking to spot conceal small blemishes and that doesn’t have a lot of serious skin issues to cover.

Ingredients: Castor Isostearate Beeswax Succinate, Mica, Octyl-Dodecanol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Prunusamygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Silica, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Trihydroxystearin, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax (Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Ciredecarnauba), Butyrospermumparkii (Shea) Butter, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis (Marigold) Flower Extract, Glycerin, Glyceryl Behenate, Water (Aqua, Eau), Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Citral. May Contain +/-: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491/77492/77499), Ultramarines (CI 77007)

Honest Beauty Luminizing Powder in Dusk Reflection (US$25)

I already knew I was going to fall in love with this product as I love the luminizing powder in Midnight Reflection (their highlighter). Dusk Reflection is a luminizing bronzer with very fine shimmer that is undetectable on the skin, giving you a natural healthy glow. This was my favourite product from everything I got. At first, I was worried at how dark it looked in the pan, but once applied it is so natural and beautiful. You won’t get any harsh contouring from this product as Honest Beauty makeup is about enhancing your natural beauty, but there is a good amount of pigment in this product. I always get compliments on how nice my makeup looks when wearing this! The colour is perfect too, not too orangey and not too ashy, just a subtle summer bronze. I think this would suit light to medium skin tones as I don’t think it is dark enough for darker skin tones.

I have been reaching for this every time I do my makeup to warm up my face or to contour as it’s so natural. It is very buildable so you are aren’t going to dip your brush in it once and get too much product which I like. You can definitely use a heavy hand with this product. It allows you to control how much you want. I prefer using the Real Techniques blush brush to bronze all over or my Inika blush brush for more precise contouring. The formula is also very silky and easy to blend as it’s a baked face powder. I find it very longwearing and don’t notice any breakouts from using this (but again will keep you posted). The only con about this product is how bulky the packaging is. I love how much product you get, however it isn’t very travel friendly. I wish they would make a trio palette with the highlighter, blush, and bronzer. Other than that, I would highly recommend this product as it has become my absolute favourite. You will not regret it!

Ingredients: Mica, Silica, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Squalane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Caprylyl Glycol, Lauroyl Lysine, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Tocopherol, Hectorite, Sodium Dehydroacetate. May Contain +/-: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491/77492/77499).

Honest Beauty True Velvet Eyeliner in Eye Opener (US$16)

Because I spent so much money at the store, they threw this lovely gem in as a free gift! And I’m glad they did because I have been wearing it every single day since I got it. I love their eyeliners in black and cocoa, so I knew I would fall in love with this shade. It is described as an eye brightening nude shade. It is perfect to line the inside of your waterline to brighten up tired eyes and to make your eyes appear more open (great for someone with smaller eyes). It is great for sensitive skin as it contains plant based conditioning ingredients that won’t irritate your eyes.

It is a true nude that looks natural and wearable and deposits the right amount of pigment. It doesn’t give you that creepy doll eyed effect as most nude liners do. It’s long wearing and undetectable. I really recommend Honest Beauty eyeliners as their formula is creamy and smooth but they don’t transfer and the packaging is also great. The sponge tip, which I actually use it not hard but really soft and squishy, blending out the liners perfectly.

Ingredients: Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax (Euphorbia Cerifera Cera, Cire de Candelilla), Silica, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax (Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Cire de Carnauba), Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate. May Contain +/-: Mica (CI 77019), Iron Oxides (CI 77491/77492/77499).

Honest Beauty Everything Primer (US$27)

I was really excited to get my hands on this product as its a cult beauty favourite of Jessica Alba’s (and who doesn’t want to look like her!) and has won Allure’s Best of Beauty Award. First of all the packaging is to die for! It reminds me a lot of the Chanel packaging. It’s very chic and modern. It was also a lot smaller than what I thought, but that’s ok. It does have my favourite Honest Beauty signature scent, orange flower water, but it isn’t obnoxious in any way. It comes in a squeeze tube which you have to shake and not squeeze right away to get the product out otherwise you will struggle quite a bit. The nozzle controls the right amount of product that is squeezed out. The product itself is a bronzy shimmery colour, which is supposed to add a subtle golden glow to the skin.

I’m not a big primer person as I find it to be an extra step, so my main purpose of using this was to add a subtle golden glow to my skin either alone or under the tinted moisturiser. I also want to use this to increase the longevity of the tinted moisturiser. I have only worn this once so I cannot completely decide how I feel about this yet. It did sink in really well, was hydrating and yet not sticky once it dried. I didn’t notice a whole lot of glow or shimmer as it is very subtle and my moisturiser is quite glowy already (I apply this over my moisturiser as I have dry skin). I do like that this has hyaluronic acid to help plump up lines as I do struggle with smile lines. I didn’t notice it doing anything with my pores as I don’t struggle with large pores. I didn’t notice any breakouts from this as I usually notice within the first day of wearing something new. However, I will keep testing this out and update you guys later. As of right now, I am undecided whether or not to recommend this product…I don’t love it and I don’t hate it.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua, Eau), Cetearyl Olivate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Coco-Caprylate, Glycerin, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Sorbitan Olivate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Arginine, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Cocoglycerides, Glyceryl Stearate, Tribenenin, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Scierotium Gum, Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-19, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower Water Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Dimethicone, Lauroyl Lysine, Capryloyl Glycine, Undecylenoyl Glycine, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citric Acid, Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491).

Honest Beauty Tinted Moisturiser Oil Free SPF 20 in Cream (US$28)

I had purchased the normal version of the tinted moisturiser as I have dry skin, but funnily enough this turned out to be more hydrating (even though it’s marketed for oil skin). I prefer the oil free version so much better than the normal one, as so many other people with dry skin too. I also love the white matte packaging a lot better and the tube is a lot easier to squeeze the product out of. I have used my fingers, a brush, and a beauty blender to apply this. I found using a really dense brush, like the Sephora mineral powder brush (pictured above) to be the best at blending this. The formula is still thick like the normal one, so you have to spend a bit of time blending and spreading this out to avoid it looking cakey. I love the finish of this better as it looks a lot more dewy but it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin no matter how many layers you put on. However, it does feel tacky so if you hate that feeling you will need to set this.

As it is a tinted moisturiser, don’t expect to get full coverage with this. I have light scars to cover and for me I would call this light to medium buildable coverage. It does a fantastic job at evening out your skin tone, which is the purpose of a tinted moisturiser. The colour looks orange at first but once you blend it in, because its so sheer, it matches perfectly. However if you have porcelain skin with yellow undertones, this will be too dark. This isn’t long wearing at all, but is perfect for running errands. It looks very natural and soft focus on the skin, if applied with light layers. It has my favourite orange flower water scent, but again it’s not overpowering and doesn’t linger once on the skin. I noticed when I was cleansing my face after wearing this, my skin was a lot more hydrated, smooth and supple. It felt as though all the natural oils in my skin were balanced. I didn’t notice any breakouts when wearing this, as it felt very lightweight and comfortable on the skin. I would highly recommend the Oil Free version for those natural makeup days, with the added benefit of broad spectrum sun protection.

Honest Beauty Truly Kissable Lip Crayon Demi-Matte in Honey Kiss (US$18)

This was another winner for me! This was also a favourite of Jessica’s so of course I had to pick it up. It was also the only nude from the demi-matte lip crayons. Honey Kiss is described as a soft nude. It is a very wearable soft pink nude that would suit a lot of skin tones. It’s very pigmented so you only need one swipe to get full coverage. I love the twist up packaging so there’s no sharpening needed. The crayon is shaped perfectly to effortlessly draw on the lips. The product is very creamy so if you live in a hot climate like I do, it will melt. It smells exactly like the creme blush, a very pleasant fruit scent. The texture of this product is very interesting. Its creamy but very lightweight at the same time, and almost feels powdery when dried.

You have to have exfoliated, hydrated lips to wear this as it can cling onto dry patches and accentuate any lines on the lips. This pairs perfectly when worn under the Honest Beauty lip gloss in Generous Kiss to create that perfect nude lip. Because of all the nourishing ingredients in this, your lips will feel incredibly soft even after the product has worn off. This does wear for a couple of hours, but you will definitely need to reapply. I highly recommend checking out their lip crayons, and they even have more sheer glossy ones if you don’t like the matte look!

Ingredients: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Silica, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax (Euphorbia Cerifera Cera, Cire De Candelilla), Beeswax (Cera Alba, Cire d’Abeille), Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax (Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Cire de Carnauba), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seedwax, Pyrusmalus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Rubusidaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Water (Aqua, Eau), Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Tocopherol, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Triethyl Citrate, Glyceryl Undecylenate, Alcohol. May Contain +/-: Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Carmine (CI 75470), Iron Oxides (CI 77491/77492/77499), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 9140), Mica (CI 77019).

Honest Beauty Lip Gloss in Generous Kiss (US$18)

I absolutely love this lip gloss!!! Finally a lip gloss that is not sticky. Like the Bite Beauty lip glosses, this gloss will leave your lips feeling hydrated even after it has worn off. They will feel incredibly soft! The formula is perfectly thin and comfortable, but also hydrating and smooth. It’s very pigmented, but your lips but better colour. It’s the right amount of glossy making your lips look super luscious and full. You can wear it alone or over the top of Honey Kiss lip crayon if you find it’s too nude. The gloss is more of a rosy pink nude to me and balances out the lip crayon. They work perfectly together and never goop up or feel heavy. The wand is amazingly soft, flexible and flat so it’s very easy to use. The only con is that there is no scent to this. I would have liked a berry scent like the lip crayon, but it doesn’t bother me too much that there isn’t one. I would highly recommend you get yourself a gloss from honest beauty. It is probably my favourite from the whole collection so far!

Overall, I am so impressed with the quality and performance of Honest Beauty products. I would highly recommend you check them out. Those of you who like that natural, everyday, no makeup look would especially love this line. I do wish they would offer international shipping as it is difficult to get a hold of.

Shaving Routine: Natural & Safe

IMG_5030.JPG

Hello Beauties!

Today I thought I’d share my shaving routine using mostly safe and natural products. I wanted to share this as for a long time I struggled to find products that worked on my sensitive skin. I have also perfected my shaving technique in which I no longer experience nasty razor burn and/or bumps, but am still able to achieve a close shave.

As I have sensitive skin, I am a firm believer in using less products that also contaim simple, minimal ingredients.

Here is what you will need:

  1. A simple unscented fragrance free bar soap. I love the Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Bar Soap – Baby Unscented. It is so gentle on my skin and doesnt clog my pores or cause razor bumps. It is also very thick and builds a nice lather (which is what you want to avoid irritation and get the closest shave possible without cutting yourself). Ingredients are oil based and very minimal and natural, perfect for shaving delicate areas.
  2. I recommend using a razor with a lot of blades, targeted for sensitive skin with a moisturising bar on the blades to avoid irritation and cutting yourself. I’ve tried plain razors in order to be more “natural” but it just doesn’t work the same. I really enjoy using Schick Hydro Silk Razor and the Gillette Venus Spa Razor as they give me a really close shave without irritating my skin.
  3. AHA Toner (Glycolic Acid) – Glycolic acid is amazing for sensitive skin, but is also very effective. I recommend using a water based AHA toner with very minimal ingredients. I use the Environ Intensive Alpha Toner Forte as it only contains 3 ingredients: water, glycolic acid, and a preservative. It is harder to find as you have to find a stockist that sells environ, but any glycolic acid toner will work. The purpose of this is to prevent and treat razor bumps. I use this toner for my face as a “pimple killer” and it works amazingly for the bikini area in getting rid of redness and bumps the next day! I find I only need to use this the first night I shave as it is so effective. I will say though if there are any cuts, it will sting a little. I recommend also wearing loose breathable cotton underwear after you apply this.

Technique:

  • I recommend shaving right at the end of your shower so that the steam loosens up the hairs (but don’t have the water on too hot). Lather the Dr Bronner bar soap on the area you want to shave. Remember the thicker the lather, the less irritation and closer shave you will get!
  • Make sure your razor isn’t blunt or old as you will cut yourself and cause irritation. Shave with the grain (in the direction the hairs are growing) but don’t press down too hard. Do this until most of the hair is gone.
  • Apply another thick coat of soap. Shave against the grain (opposite direction the hair is growing) ONCE only. Doing this step once only will avoid getting any razor bumps as going against the grain usually causes irritation. Wash off any excess soap.
  • Once out of the shower, apply your toner on a cotton pad to the area you shaved and let dry.

I hope this helped you beauties out. For the longest time I was shaving wrong and giving myself nasty cuts and bumps. I find this method to be the best for my sensitive skin. Comment below if you have any special shaving techniques or products that work for you. I would love to hear them!

KORA Organics Balancing Rose Mist Review

Hello Beauties!

Today I will be reviewing the KORA Organics Balancing Rose Mist. I was looking for a rose mist that was really hydrating and dewy looking on the skin. I was given the KORA Organics Calming Lavender Mist as a gift however I found it broke me out (probably due to the lavender) as I have sensitive skin. I did really enjoy the scent of it as it was very calming and herbal so I decided to give the Rose mist a go since I know my skin loves rosewater and is great for people with sensitive skin. I love the look of my skin with this mist as it gives a really nice dewy look, however if you spritz a lot of it throughout the day without any makeup on, it can feel sticky especially on my eyelids which is really uncomfortable. However I found the rose mist to be less sticky than the lavender mist, and felt more refreshing. To fix this problem you could always just spritz less.

I mainly got this mist to make my mineral powder foundation (Jane Iredale Purepressed Base) look more dewy and hydrating during the colder months, which it does a fantastic job of. It also gets rid of any dry flakes you have on the skin without disturbing your makeup. If you feel like your powder foundation looks a bit heavy, this does a great job of making it look more natural. It also doesn’t break me out, and I noticed any existing pimples were reduced dramatically when using this. The ingredients in this mist are exceptional for dry, sensitive skin like mine. I noticed this mist didn’t contain as much or any essential oils that can irritate the skin. For my skin, spritzing 2-3 times a day is enough to see results. The packaging also frustrates me. The lid is very hard to open and the nozzle even broke off at one point. I do however love how fine the mist is, and how evenly it spreads across the face (which the Vanessa Megan one failed to do). I have since repurchased this again, and can now say this product is a holy grail and replaced my Vanessa Megan rosewater toner! I know this product is quite pricey and you can get plain rosewater anywhere, however I feel like the added ingredients in this product make it extra special.

Description on Website:

“A replenishing and nourishing facial mist with the added benefits of organically grown Rose, Noni, Aloe and Hibiscus. This unique combination provides the skin with antioxidant protection known widely to assist in supporting the skin’s own collagen production.”

Directions

“Use morning and night after cleansing and before your choice of KORA Organics moisturizers. Simply spritz a fine mist directly onto clean, fresh skin. To maintain makeup freshness throughout the day gently spritz over makeup. Essential for travelling to re-hydrate the skin.”

Ingredients: Rosa damascena (Rose) Flower Water*, Rosa centifolia (Rose)*, Hibiscus sabdariffa (Hibiscus)* Extract, Alcohol^, Parfum (Natural), Sodium PCA, Glycerin^, Morinda citrifolia (Noni Fruit) Extract *, Polyglycerol-10 Isostearate, Aloe barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Malpighia glabra (Acerola Cherry Powder)*, d-alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Soyabean derived Natural Vitamin E), Glyceryl Caprylate, Maltodextrin^, Sodium chloride (Macrobiotic sea salt ), Lactic Acid, Aqua (Water). *Ingredient from Organic Farming. ^Made using Organic Ingredients. 98.99% of the total ingredients are from Natural Origin. 87.63% of the total ingredients are from Organic Farming.

Skin Type for: Normal/Dry skin

Smell: I really enjoy the heavenly rose scent. It’s not obnoxious at all, just very calming and refreshing.

Feel: If you do spritz a lot throughout the day without makeup on, it can feel sticky. However, over the top of foundation you cannot feel it. When I go to wash my face at the end of the day it feels incredibly soft, smooth and hydrated.

Packaging:

FullSizeRender 3

The sprayer on this mist is the best I have come across. I love how even and fine the mist comes out of the bottle and the nozzle allows you to control how much to spray. What I don’t like is how hard the lid is to take off and put back on. There’s a certain way to take off the lid (almost snap it off on the side), which led to the nozzle falling off at one time but I was able to put it back on easily.

Longevity: As mentioned, if you do have dry skin and go to town with your mist all day long, it will run out very quickly.

Look: I love how dewy and hydrated my skin looks when this is applied with or without makeup on.

Recommend: I would highly recommend this if you have sensitive, dry and flakey skin and are looking to make your mineral makeup more dewy. I feel like what sets this rosewater spray apart from others is definitely the sprayer and how even and fine a mist you get, but also the ingredients just work perfectly together to calm and soothe the skin. I have now repurchased this three times, so you know how good it is!

Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser Review

pai_camellia_rose_gentle_hydrating_cleanser_200ml

Hello beauties! Today I wanted to share my thoughts on the Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser. Pai is a certified organic skincare line, founded by Sarah Brown. It is designed mainly for people with sensitive skin. However, Pai also caters to people with various skin conditions, such as eczema, allergy prone skin, dermatitis, acne prone skin, and much more. Pai was one of the first certified organic skincare lines that i’ve tried. I first heard about it when I was researching certified organic skincare for sensitive skin, and read that actress and vegan, Natalie Portman, loves the brand, in particular the “Pai Chamomile and Rosehip Cream” (which I have not tried). Natalie Portman’s skin is AMAZING, so I thought I would give Pai a go! At the time, my skin was VERY dry, sensitive, and red (mainly due to the worst cleanser ever: Proactiv). I also started to develop eczema around my mouth area, which I never had on my face but I did once have it on my body. So, the Pai cleanser seemed like a great choice!

The description on the Pai website states:

“Pai Camellia & Rose Hydrating Cleansing Cream gently removes dirt, make-up and other impurities that build up on your skin throughout the day.

Bursting with Omega 3 & Vitamins A, B & E, it replenishes the skin’s moisture barrier, leaving it soft and supple.

The exfoliating muslin cloth lifts away dead skin cells to leave a smooth, even complexion.

Suitable for all sensitive skin types, the Pai Hydrating Cleanser is detergent and alcohol-free, so won’t dry out or irritate your skin.

Also suitable to use around the eyes to remove even waterproof mascara.”

-This cleanser is quite effective in removing light makeup.

-It definitely makes your skin feel so soft and supple, without feeling stripped of moisture. You still feel cleansed though.

-The muslin cloth (that is included) is a great tool in gently “exfoliating” away dead skin, making your skin feel super soft. However, at first the cloth can feel a little stiff/rough on the face, so it may take a few times for it to “soften” up. It also lasts quite a while.

-Definitely doesn’t irritate skin, and for sure calms down any redness.

-Doesn’t sting the eyes! I don’t wear waterproof mascara so I don’t know about that claim.

Skin Type: Sensitive, Anti-Redness, Dry, Combination.

This is a lightweight creamy cleanser that would definitely suit people with dry, red, and sensitive skin. If you are oily, I would stay away from this cleanser. My skin at the time of using this was definitely different to how it is now (that is why I do no use it anymore). I am now more combination/normal, but still dry. I find that my skin now works better with gentle foaming cleansers, rather than creamy ones.  However, at the time, this helped significantly with any redness, dryness and sensitivity.

Ingredients: aqua, camellia sinensis seed oil*, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil*, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil*, cetearyl alcohol, vegetable glycerine*, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter* , cetearyl glucoside, rosa damascena (rose otto) oil*, pelargonium graveolens (geranium) oil*, lavandula officinalis (lavender) flower oil*, litsea cubeba fruit oil* – may chang oil, mixed tocopherols (natural vitamin e), sodium lauroyl lactylate, sodium anisate, sodium levulinate, lactic acid, glyceryl stearate citrate.

Size: This cleanser comes in 3 sizes. It comes in 50ml (only on certain sites) and this does not come with a muslin cloth, however it is a great trial size. You can also purchase the muslin cloth separately for only a small price. The next size is 100ml (muslin cloth included). The largest size is 200ml (muslin cloth included) which lasts forever!

Price: This can be a bit pricey (especially if you buy straight from the website). You can get it off beautybay.com or other sites for much less. However, because it is a cream cleanser and the bottle it comes in is quite generous, it lasts a while. On the website, for the 100ml, it is AUD $50.00. For the 200ml, it is AUD $70.00.

Smell: The smell is just divine! You can definitely smell the rose and camellia. It almost smells as if you are putting herbal tea on your face! The scent isn’t overpowering, but rather calming and soothing.

Texture/Feel: The texture is creamy, but not too much. It is very lightweight, yet moisturizing. If you have any irritated or red skin, you can immediately feel relief. It is very soothing and soft on the skin. Especially used with the muslin cloth, your skin feels very soft and supple. However, if you have any active breakouts, don’t use the muslin cloth as it may irritate.

Recommend? I have a very love/hate relationship with this. Back when my skin had eczema and was very dry, this cleanser was PERFECT. However, now that my skin has changed to normal/combination/slightly dry, I find that I can’t use this anymore as it is too heavy and clogs my pores. I prefer gentle foaming cleansers now. However, if you have the skin type that this cleanser is designed for, I would absolutely recommend this! If you are unsure, I think you can get samples on the website, or you can purchase the smaller 50ml bottle on certain sites only, which is a great trial size. Keep in mind though you don’t get the muslin cloth with the 50ml.
