Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick & Lush Fruit Lip Gloss Reviews

Hello Beauties!

photo 1

Today I will be reviewing the Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipsticks in Retsina, Fig, as well as the Lychee/Musk duo, and the Lush Fruit Lip glosses in Rambutan and Peach. What sparked my interest with this brand is that the ingredients are completely natural and food grade, so you can essentially eat them! I am a huge lip product fanatic, and I’m always conscious about what I put on my lips and that it isn’t going to be harmful. Bite beauty is a Canadian brand that specialises in lip products; ranging from lip crayons to lipsticks, glosses, lip scrubs, and a lip moisture mask.

Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick duo in Lychee/Musk

I purchased this product when I saw it in the checkout line. There are two available duos you can get. This one and another that is more vibrant and daring. I chose to stick with this duo because I am more comfortable with natural nude/pink shades. I love how affordable this is, and it is very small and portable, great for carrying around in your purse. I love how it allows you to try out two shades of lipstick, with a decent amount of product, which is about half the price of one lipstick. The only thing I didn’t like about this, was how easily the lipstick broke off. But to be fair, I had it in my car and it was hot and so the lipstick melted a bit. Nonetheless, the shades are quite universal and I think it will suit many skin tones. I also love the fact that each lipstick is helping you reduce wrinkles on the lips, as it contains the key ingredient, Resveratrol (equiv. of 2 glasses of red wine!). Although the creme lipsticks are very creamy and moisturizing, you definitely cannot wear them if you have chapped, dry lips. They need to be completely smooth. One thing I don’t like about them is they leave a film on your lips when you first apply, or if you apply too much, especially with the lighter shades. I would suggest to really pat and build the colour slowly to avoid this. The lipsticks are so pigmented, so you only need to apply a small amount to get great colour payoff! I also absolutely love the smell of the lipsticks! It wears pretty well on the lips, especially for a food grade lipstick.

Lychee is described as a light neutral pink, which is spot on! This is probably the easiest and most wearable of all the shades I have. It gives you a sheer wash of baby pink across the lips, which is perfect for everyday. I really enjoy this colour, and prefer it over musk. This is more of a youthful and flattering colour on me. I don’t think they offer this shade in full size though.

Musk is described as a pink/brown colour. It is definitely more on the browny side, very similar to my beloved RMS beauty lip to cheek in Promise, but more brown. Again, the shade is ok, but I find it too brown and ageing for me. I prefer lighter, pinky colours. I think it is more of a wintery shade. It reminds me  a lot of the 90s brown lipstick shades. I’m pretty sure you can purchase this in full size.

I think that this neutral duo is perfect to give a try, especially if you are new to the brand and you are not sure you want to pay the money for a full size lipstick. The colours are definitely very wearable and flattering.

Luminous Creme Lipstick in Retsina:

“A lush, long-lasting, moisture-rich lip colour.”

“This lip color delivers super antioxidant resveratrol, which fights free radicals with potent long-term antiaging benefits. Each lipstick contains the amount of resveratrol found in five glasses of red wine.”

“This product is free of synthetics, polybutenes, and petroleum byproducts and made exclusively with lip nurturing food-grade ingredients that are healthy enough to eat.”

Price: US $24

Size: 0.15 oz. You do get quite a bit of product, so it will last you forever!

Shade: Retsina is described as a natural pink. Although, I would classify it more as a beige nude shade. It is the first nude colour I have ever owned. Surprisingly, I really like the colour. I didn’t think it would suit my fair complexion, but it really is flattering and natural. You definitely need to have exfoliated lips to wear this as well. The colour lasts quite a while on my lips, which is impressive for a food grade product. The scent is my favourite. It’s quite hard to describe; almost a mixture of doughy and fruity. I love the packaging as well; it is very sleek and simple which I like. This shade goes perfectly with Bite’s Lush Fruit Lipgloss in Rambutan to create the perfect wearable nude lip!

Recommend? Yes! Especially if you are new to nude shades. This would definitely be an easier transition for you as it is so natural and pretty.

Luminous Creme Lipstick in Fig:

Fig is described as a nude rose shade, which is very true. This is probably my favourite colour out of them all, just because I love this shade of pink and it is the closest to my natural lip colour. It has fast become my everyday lip colour. It is so easy to wear and very pretty on the lips. It is also the most moisturising and pigmented. I would definitely recommend and repurchase this colour!

Rich, vibrant, and juicy, this modern formula is highly pigmented. What you see in the container is exactly the color you’ll see on your lips.”

Size: 0.11 oz. Again

Shade: Rambutan is described as a peachy nude. When I first saw the colour, I thought that it would be too brown and unflattering on me, but turns out it is perfect; a very wearable nude pink shade. It also has a lot of pigment, so it’s beautiful to wear on its own. It goes perfect with Retsina as they are essentially the same colour. The formula is not my favourite as it is very sticky and hard to work with, however I like that after it has worn off your lips are still so moisturised. It lasts quite a while on the lips because it’s so sticky. I quite like the scent/flavour of this as it’s fruity. I constantly lick my lips, so it’s important that my lip products have a pleasant flavour.

Recommend? Depends on whether you like sticky lip glosses or not.

Lush Fruit Lipgloss in Peach

photo 18 photo 19

Peach is described as a baby pink, which is spot on, but the name is really misleading. I love how feminine and girly this shade is. It is a very wearable, natural baby pink shade. With both glosses, you need to be careful how much you apply, because if you put too much on it can settle in the lines on your lips. With lighter lip colours, you need to be more careful about exfoliating your lips as it can cling onto everything and make it so much more noticeable. I prefer the shade Rambutan over this as it is more wearable for my fair complexion.

Recommend? I personally do not reach for this shade as much as Rambutan. And again depends on whether you like sticky lipgloss.
