Pilates: Exercise Your Way to a Toned Body

Hello beauties!

Today I’d thought i’d share another exercise secret of mine: pilates. I’ve been practising pilates now for 2 years and absolutely love it. Not only is it not as much of a physically demanding workout, but the results are also fast! Pilates is a great way to quickly tone the body, making you more long and lean! I’ve never been the really hardcore cardio exercise type of gal. So, I mainly stick with my daily yoga routine, as well as pilates 2-3 times a week depending on my schedule. Results for me show within 3 days. The particular routine I do targets everything you want to be toned; your core, arms, legs, butt, and chest. You really do get that nice flat stomach and toned legs, arms, and butt. The routine doesn’t take very long, and there also comes a point to when you really start enjoying it and so the time flies by! I will admit though, when I first started doing this routine, it was quite hard to get into because it is physically challenging to a point, but once you do the routine a couple of times, I find your body gets into the rhythm and builds its strength, making the workout slowly become easier! Everyone’s body type and fitness level is different, so the results may vary within time. What is also wonderful about this routine is that you can do it within the comfort of your home, whenever suits you! Also, most, if not all of the workout is laying down, so it’s really not that bad. I truly believe that exercise, in particular yoga and pilates, is a great way to release stress (and those endorphins to make us happy!), tone the body, as well as to relieve the mind. It really is my best workout secret to help keep your body long and lean. I hope you enjoy this routine. It is for beginners, so it’s not too complex but it still works on toning every aspect of your body.

Mukti Pink Grapefruit Body Wash Review

Mukti Botanicals is an Australian certified organic skincare line, ranging from face, body, and haircare products. I’m always on the verge of finding a good organic body wash for my sensitive skin, which is really reactive. I thought i’d give Mukti’s Pink Grapefruit body wash a try, as pink grapefruit is meant to help with body breakouts, and because it’s organic I thought it would be gentle on my skin. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to like this product, it didn’t work so well to heal breakouts, but rather would create some red bumps on my body whenever I used this product. However, I can’t fault the product as it wasn’t specifically targeted for breakout prone skin, however it shouldn’t cause breakouts! Even though it is all natural and contains some really good ingredients, I’m still not sure what might be irritating my skin with this product. It was quite disappointing because I actually really enjoy other Mukti products, but this one however was a miss for me. Keep in mind that everyone’s skin is different, and so what might not work for me, might be the perfect product for you. Also, what is so great about Mukti is that they offer samples on their website! In saying that, I did get a sample of this, and at that time my skin was fine, however it probably needed more uses to see how it’d work on my skin.

Description as on the Mukti website:

Features: calendula, sage, citrus.

“A gentle foaming and cleansing gel that leaves the skin feeling silky smooth and lightly moisturised. Naturally infused with a harmonising blend of organic plant extracts and pure essential oils. Suitable for babies and children. Also suitable as a bubble bath.”

-Cleansing & hydrating

-pH balanced

Ingredients: Certified Organic Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) Leaf Juice; Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate; Cocobetaine; Certified Organic Aqueous Extracts of Bladderwrack (Fucus Vesiculosus), Calendula (Calendula Officinalis), Chamomile (Chamomilla Recutita), Ginkgo Biloba Leaf, Horsetail (Equisetum Arvense), Nettle (Urtica Dioica), Red Clover (Trifolium Pratense), Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis), Sage (Salvia Officinalis) & Yarrow (Achillea Millefolium); Xanthan Gum; Certified Organic Essential Oils of Pink Grapefruit (Citrus Paradisi), Tangerine (Citrus Tangerina) & Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia); Vitamin E (Tocopherol); Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid & Sorbic Acid; Salt (Sodium Chloride); Citric Acid.

The Smell: The smell is quite citrusy and you can definitely smell the pink grapefruit. Citrus smells aren’t my favourite, but it wasn’t so unbearable to use.

The Feel: It’s quite an odd gel like texture, from the Aloe Vera base. Not my favourite texture either. Would have preferred something more creamy. It lathers quite well, but not to the extreme. It also feels as though there is some residue left on the skin, which I don’t like.

Size: The product comes in quite a large bottle, containing 500ml. So, if you’re not that impressed with the product, then it feels wasteful to throw it out. It will definitely last for a while.

Who is it suitable for? The Mukti website states all ages, even suitable for babies and children. Although if you have sensitive, reactive breakout prone skin, i’d probably stay away. If you did want to give it a try, i’d suggest getting a sample first.

Rating: 2/5

Recommend? Unfortunately this product is a miss for me!

The Power of Yoga

Yoga has now been a part of my life for a while. As an anxious person who deals with a lot of stress, I needed an outlet to relieve this, and yoga was it! I also wanted to practice yoga, because I heard that it not only relieves your stress, it can also reduce your androgen levels, helping to clear your skin. Yoga for me serves 3 purposes; to heal the body, mind and soul. It has honestly changed all three of these aspects in such a positive way. Yoga helps to tone and strengthen your body, making it more flexible and lean. It also helps to clear the mind, relieving any stress you may have. I also believe that it has significantly aided in keeping my complexion clear, mainly because of the stress relief. Through different poses, blood flow is rushed to your face, which helps in increasing circulation and improving your skin! Yoga also really helps to ground you, helping to clear your mind and think about what is really important in life. It’s a great way to escape the day and take some time to yourself. The routine in which I practice daily, only consists of three poses, only taking up around 5-10 minutes or less. Even if your day is busy, there is always time to make to yourself, and with only three simple poses, you can’t go wrong. If you also have trouble sleeping because of stress, this is a great routine to do before bed! Here is a link to the video, in which instructs you to the yoga routine I follow. Enjoy!
