Inika “Peachy Keen” Mineral Blush VS. NARS “Orgasm” Blush

I think that I have found my HOLY GRAIL mineral blush! Inika is one of my favourite Australian Certified Organic/Mineral cosmetic brands. Not only is the packaging chic and modern, but the performance and quality of the ingredients of their products is outstanding. There is a common misconception out there that organic and mineral cosmetic brands, whilst their ingredients are good, the performance and colour is not. Well, that is not the case with Inika’s products, in particular their “Peachy Keen” blush. Inika is unique in that it does not compromise performance and colour, infusing their products with quality ingredients and strong natural pigments that compete with the mainstream cosmetic brands. Inika focuses on the purity and quality of its ingredients and is 100% Certified Vegan, Halal and Cruelty Free. I will be reviewing the Inika blush in the shade “Peachy Keen,” and comparing the colour to the NARS “Orgasm” blush. It really does compete with the NARS blush in both performance and pigment. Because the ingredients are literally just pigment minerals from the earth, it NEVER breaks me out! I would say though that the Inika blush wins by far, which is huge for a mineral blush.

Description:

“Peachy Keen – A warm peach shade for light and medium skin tones.

INIKA Mineral Blush (3g) gives you warm, luscious colours delivered straight from nature!

The texture is extraordinarily soft while the lack of fillers means that the pigment is super concentrated, so a little goes a long way! Free of oil, alcohol, talc, fillers, fragrance, preservatives and chemical dyes for all day colour and a long lasting youthful glow.”

Ingredients: Mica (CI 77019); Zinc Oxide (CI 77947); May contain (+/-) Tin Oxide (CI 778161); Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891); Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499); Ultramarines (CI 77007).

Colour: The colour looks very intense and bright in the pot, so you only need to apply a small amount to get a natural colour, but it is still very pigmented! It is definitely more peachy in tone than the NARS “orgasm,” which is more pinky. Like the NARS blush, there are tiny specs of gold shimmer in it, but you cannot see it on your face. It only makes your skin glow, like it’s lit from within. They both pretty much give off the same glowy effect, but i’d say the Inika is more pigmented and flattering on my light skin.

Feel: The Inika blush feels very, very soft and finely milled, whereas the NARS feel a little more “rougher.”

Size: The Inika blush comes in a 3g pot.

Packaging: The packaging the only thing I dislike about this product! I hate that it is a loose powder and that it does not have a sifter. It is not very travel friendly as when the product is tipped upside down, you end up with all of the blush coming out of the holes.

Price: AUD $45.00. The price is definitely worth it!

Longevity: Not only does the colour last on your skin for a long time, the product itself lasts a long time, because it is so pigmented and you only need a small amount to get the desired colour.

Application: I just use a small blush brush to apply. It’s a little harder to use because it is a loose powder, however just place a little powder in the cap and make sure to get an even amount on your brush. Just start off with a small amount and build to your desired colour.

Recommend? Definitely! If you have light to medium skin and love that natural, healthy glow. If you like more of a peachier pink, than the NARS pinkier tone, then the Inika “Peachy Keen” is for you! If you’re also looking for a healther, natural alternative to the NARS, the Inika “Peachy Keen” blush is PERFECT.
